The upper airway is like an elastic and collapsible tube. The vibration occurs at the soft palate, tongue base and lid levels called epiglottis in the throat. Increase of the upper airway resistance during sleep causes vibration and snoring in the airway. Vibration increases as the upper airway narrows.
